Cornerstone Cooperative's "Writing for Communications" Class

This blog contains articles, instructions and links used in Cornerstone Co-operative's "Writing for Communication" non-fiction writing class taught by Scott Howard, Fall 2013 through Spring 2014.

Textbooks

We will use two textbooks and several handouts throughout the year. Our main textbooks are Writer's Inc. and Elements of Style, 4th Edition. Make sure you order the Writer's Inc. with "Inc" in green text. The links should take you to the correct version. These may be available in paperback, but I recommend that you purchase the hardback of Elements of Style because it will likely become a lifelong tool for writing.

Course Goals

In the Fall semester students will read and write various forms of the essay: personal narrative, expository, persuasive and others.

The Spring semester will focus on writing the research paper.

More to come....
